  • The corporate training workshops focused on improv for business through team building activities

“Play. That’s a word you don’t hear me say often.” Triumph Hotels COO Brett Blass opened up last week’s day of improv sessions reminding his team to take a break and relax.

Laugh.Events was brought in to host two 2-hour corporate training sessions consisting of improv comedy lessons, corporate storytelling exercises, and team building activities to boost morale. Using Triumph Hotels’ goals for the workshop, the Laugh.Events instructors put together a customized curriculum ahead of the event.

Laugh.Events instructors led the Triumph Hotels team members through a series of exercises designed to grow their communication skills with guests as well as build trust amongst team members.

Starting off as one group, they formed a circle, and began inviting one another to move across the room by making eye contact and waiting for verbal agreement before walking. From there, the sessions included a series of small group work activities and plenty of laughs - participants told each other short stories, retold them with embellishment, circled up again, danced, and met new faces. By the end of each session, the employees were erupting in cheers for the winner of a rock, paper, scissors tournament. To close out, each workshop ended with a quiet, re-centering exercise before participants returned to work.
