“Naturally when you go into a meeting, whether that’s a client dinner or just a regular Monday meeting, you’re going to feel a little tense,” says our Founder, Kevin Hubschmann. As a host of hundreds of corporate events since Laugh.Events’ start in 2019, Kevin is no stranger to that feeling. Now, he’s working to eliminate that tension through ice breakers specifically designed to get people laughing.

Our advisor, Dr. Natalie Dattilo, explains that laughter can be a powerful tool for lessening feelings of stress. “Health-wise, both physical and mental benefits of laughter have been documented in terms of lowering blood pressure, decreasing cortisol, and boosting endorphins, which are our natural feel-good chemicals and painkillers,” says Dr. Dattilo, a Clinical Psychologist and Harvard Medical School Instructor.

Laugh.Events offers 15-minute comedy events for in-person, virtual, and hybrid teams, helping ease work stress by encouraging employees to take a break and laugh with one another. The short duration can be the perfect introduction to whatever may follow, whether that’s a business meeting or a happy hour event to meet new team members.

In-Person

For in-person events such as client dinners, the 15-minute experience provides an opportunity for people to get comfortable speaking with each other. “For a dinner of event marketing professionals, one of our Musical Comedians or Improvisers might interview the audience and then create a song around crazy event nightmares,” says Kevin. By starting with a few laughs, the experience can eliminate any awkwardness around meeting new people and starting conversations.

Virtual

If you’re gathering virtually for a meeting, the 15-minute show duration can be the perfect way to give your team a quick moment to laugh beforehand. “For remote teams, these shows can give people a much-needed jolt of endorphins, resetting their bodies before they enter into the next part of the workday,” Kevin says.

Think our 15-minute event might be just the quick laugh your team needs, either in-person or as a remote team building activity? Contact our team to learn more about Breaking the Ice Through Laughter!
