Laugh-out-loud icebreaker games and team building exercises for teams working remotely
Icebreakers games and getting silly
Starting meetings can be rough, especially if you aren’t interested in small talk about the weather or what someone did over the weekend. This is why we will take you through a series of icebreaker games to get everyone comfortable with communicating with each other. By doing this first, you’re able to get everyone comfortable and create an environment for serious business conversation.
Leveling up virtual communication
“I think that… oh sorry…no you go first…”. Sometimes it is difficult to know when it is your turn to speak on a virtual meeting and that is because communicating virtually and communicating in-person are two different beasts! We can help you improve your communication with your virtual teammates by focusing on the art of listening, collaboration, and supporting one another to get to the answer everyone is looking for.
Team building for hybrid teams and large groups
The benefit of the technology that supports a remote workforce is that we are lucky enough to connect with teams in other offices, time zones, and countries. Our programming can focus specifically on teams that are dispersed so that it feels like they are right in front of you. Whether teams are at home, have a large group in a conference room, or any other setup, we are there to create the perfect team virtual building experience.
Shake up your next team meeting with an unparalleled team building activity
Conscious employee engagement
With many team building activities over remote video conferencing platforms, it’s easy for people to tune out and only be half-way in to the activity. With Laughing & Development, it behooves you to take your eye off the ball. If you’re going to be taking time away from important day to day tasks, might as well do it right.
Building trust with your team members
You’re going to laugh in this session and laughter helps improve team dynamics and trust among colleagues. Laughter breaks down barriers and tensions and puts people more at ease to be themselves. It allows teammates to feel supported and enhances that team cohesion.
Elevate communication skills
Interrupting people in person is something many folks struggle with, but interrupting someone over video conference is something everyone struggles with. Improve your communication skills with your employees by learning how to listen better to your teammates and communicate with them effectively.
Improve remote work dynamics
Laughter has a slew of benefits, including the release of endorphins and other positive chemicals to the brain. Working remotely and maintaining a positive work culture can be very difficult, so taking time out to laugh and connect with one another will go a long way. Taking time out of the day to laugh allows employees to feel cared for.

In order to get people laughing, we need to establish a state of play. We need everyone to understand that we are in an environment where it is ok to take chances, be silly, and remove any and all barriers to being your most authentic self. Once our professional improv facilitators establish this setting, then the laughter starts to trickle in and the team building benefits start to get layered on.

Despite the benefits of working from home, virtual team members can feel isolated, disconnected, and lacking proper communication with the rest of their team. By investing in team building for your virtual team, you are able to help team members connect to enhance communication, build trust, improve collaboration, and most importantly boost morale and get people feeling excited to be part of the team. Teams that do not invest in virtual team building will see that their roles at the company are disposable and they lack a true connection to the organization they work from.

The best comedians for team building events are professionally trained improvisers. Improv has the ability to generate some amazing laughs, but most importantly improv teaches the ability to stay in the present and be an excellent teammate and scene partner. Professionally trained improvisers are able to take this skill set and activate play amongst the rest of your team.

We recommend that you use a regular meeting link as opposed to a webinar link because the team building facilitator needs to be able to interact with the audience, answer questions, and be available for participants. The event can still work in webinar mode, but we recommend a regular meeting link.

While any platform can work, we highly recommend using Zoom for your virtual event. That said, platforms such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, On24, and others can work well.
