What do we teach in our corporate workshops?

Communication skills

The basis of any great relationship is communication. Our corporate workshops focus on improving your communication skills through same tools performers use when trying to work with others in writers rooms and on stage. We will help you grow you communication skills - verbally and non-verbally.

Building relationships

It is important to build relationships from a strong foundation, and the foundation we believe in is letting your teammate be heard. Listening is such a huge part of building relationships and we will teach you how you can leverage listening to create strong relationships.

Supportive work environment

No one should be scared to make a mistake. In this corporate workshop we will focus on allowing people to make mistakes and having zero consequences. Every mistake in this workshop is an opportunity for an amazing thing to happen - you just need to support the choice.

How Does It Work?

  • Once your team representative completes a pre-event survey that tells us all about the group, the background of the event, and any extra important details that you’d like to include, we will hand select the best comic for your event.

  • For an on-site event, in order for the event to work best, we require, at minimum, a microphone with amplification. If you cannot provide one, let us know and we can rent this for you for a fee.

  • Once the event and AV details are squared away, we are all set! Show up with a positive attitude and be ready to have fun, but even if you’re not in the mood, don’t worry, your mood will change in no time.

FAQs

  • Improv workshops have the ability to teach your team skills that will allow them to listen better and avoid conflict. Conflict often stems from a problem with communication and our improv workshops have a very strong emphasis on how to be an expert communicator. We believe with a foundation of understanding how to best communicate, you can use the skills you learn in our improv workshop for conflict resolution.

  • Ever since the start of 2020, where the pandemic required us to work from home, there has been a blend between work and life. Corporate offsites have been the best way to shift things back into place and stop working, and start living, on the company’s time. We believe that improv workshops are valuable to creating a good work-life balance because you are having fun with your team, not talking or thinking about work, and are able to take this information back into your daily life to be a more well rounded person.

  • Improv workshops are a great way to positively impact company culture. Improv workshops foster a very positive and supportive environment. If your team does not communicate effectively, is nervous to take risks, and has a general air of tension around y’all, improv workshops are perfect for you. These workshops tear down any barriers that teammates might have and allow people to get on the same level and “say yes and..” to one another. We will help your team improve your company culture by doubling down on a supportive environment which will ultimately make people happier to work with one another.

  • The best corporate event for effective team building and employee engagement are improv workshops. Improv workshops, or as we like to call them, Laughing and Development, leverage fun games facilitated by trained professional improvisers with the goal of sharing laughter with one another and growing team bonds. This event is especially effective because employees are engaged for the duration of their event and there is not a moment for them to be distracted by phones, computers, drinks, food or anything but the experience itself.

  • Laughter is a tool used by business leaders and taught in many business schools - typically under the lens of applied improvisation. Humor is an effective tool that can increase trust, decrease tension, and increase social bonding - all key components to successful business relationships.

  • Our improv workshops are different because we are fully customizing the curriculum to be exactly what you are looking for. Ahead of the event, we will ask someone on your team, the event organizer usually, to fill out a questionnaire that will give us a full understanding of your group and how we can create a workshop that will really hit home with your group. We are different because we are leveraging data from previous events to understand which types of exercises work well for which types of groups - all based on how you complete the pre-event survey.
