One type of after-work comedy event programming Laugh.Events offers is the “Comedy Show for Charity” series, a partnership with charitable organizations to fundraise through a unique event experience in NYC. Hubschmann shares his recommendations for approaching charity event planning below - check it out!

When organizing a charity event, Hubschmann recommends event planners run through these 3 key questions:

1. Who is the audience that we’re doing the show for?

Starting by understanding the audience and the corresponding needs for the event, such as a high energy atmosphere. In the case of Laugh.Events, Hubschmann collects details around the prospective invitees to select comedians that will work well for the specific group.

2. What’s the primary goal - brand awareness or fundraising?

“If you’re looking to raise brand awareness, you can aim to cover costs, and establish a positive association with your brand,” says Hubschmann. “We do this through laughter, so it’s not a loss if you don’t raise a ton of money, because the positive association with laughter may be enough to get people to come to your next event. But if you have a specific fundraising goal in mind, then you can consider other tactics.”

3. What are some unique levers you can pull?

Kevin recommends considering offering VIP tables, sponsorships, live auctions, and community signup initiatives, depending on the goal for the event and organizational connections.
