Thursday Night Comedy Kicks Off at Rockwood Music Hall

AFter Work makes its debut on a new night of the week with musical improv comedy and a personalized experience for Season Pass holders

We know Wednesday nights are our thing, but who wouldn’t want to laugh with us on another day of the week? This October, we hosted the first Thursday Night Comedy at Rockwood Music Hall–an intimate 50-person show with exclusive early access for our VIL Season Pass holders.

Performing in the most intimate venue in the show’s history was a welcomed change. Host Kevin Hubschmann gave an opening monologue centered around the show’s past, including an excerpt about a heckler that sent him on a path of rediscovery. Once the audience felt his vulnerability, a VIL Season Pass holder emerged from the crowd to co-perform “From Now On” from The Greatest Showman, a character and film frequently revisited at Laugh.Events After Work.

The night continued featuring a lineup of comedians Jourdain Fisher, Joe List, and Danny Cohen. Musical improvisers Daniel Tepper and Adrien Pellerin interviewed audience members about their jobs, and their favorite things about New York City, and then turned them into songs on the spot.

“We’ve been loving really tailoring our experiences to fit our audiences, whether that’s letting them submit comics they want to see and bringing back their favorites, or literally making them a part of the show with interactive segments like musical improv,” says Hubschmann.
